Preschool graduate

I can't believe my baby graduated from preschool today.
He had the best teachers you can imagine. They were very kind and loving, and I can not thank them enough for giving him a great head start of his future to success.

Spring fever

The last few days have been very hot outside, and where ever you look you see flowers, shrubs and trees blooming. It's like an ocean of blossoms.
All this colors are giving me spring fever and make me want to sew again :D,
I made a nice picnic quilt (when it's completed) at least I think this is what I will use it for. The only problem ,is that I do not know how to best quilt it. Any ideas?

The shrubs in the back are gorgeous. I love the color of them.

Rolled up and ready to be quilted
I wish I could free motion quilt like you, but I 'm not there yet.
How would you quilt it?

Take care

Meet "Tigga"(Tigger)

Just like I promised here is a picture of  "Tigga"

Isn't he cute?
What a great kitty he is. You wont believe what Sami does to him ( nothing bad, lol) and he does not do any thing to him. All the kids are in love with him especially Sami and Sahra.

Not much sewing  happening right now, but I will soon start, lol. Thanks for the patterns, can't wait to pick and start. The only problem with that is, is that I do not know which one to pick first.

Take care

Takeling a teenager's room

For a while now Nadia has been asking me if I could redo her old tag board and rearrange her room. So finally this weekend we tackled her room, lol.
It took us almost all day and  I had to get Salem to help us, because her furniture is to heavy for me ( I know mom I still need to take it easy, lol).

So here is what Nadia's old tag board looked like before we took on the change

And here is a picture off her room after we rearranged it

Can you guess where the tag board is?
In case you can not see the tag board good (which I can't) here is a closer look

Nadia is so happy with the outcome of her room and thanks to Karin for sending me those amazing fabrics I was able to redo her blah tag board in an  amazing wall art.
How was your weekend?
Take care

Something sweet...

Today I thought why not share something sweet with you for a change.

Sweet Cherry Muffin

Here is what you will need for a dozen:

100 ml neutral  vegetable cooking oil
200 ml buttermilk
1 Egg
250 g Flour (I used regular unbleached flour)
2 tsp. baking powder
150 g sugar (I used 100 g)
1 pack. Vanilla sugar
1 can or jar pitted cherries (drained and chopped in pieces)( if you do not like cherries you can use any other canned fruit)

Preheat oven to 375 F or 160 C.
In medium bowl whisk oil, buttermilk and egg until well blended. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix and  add to the liquid mixture. Whisk well until smooth and add chopped cherries. Scoop in a paper lined muffin tray and bake for apr.20 minutes.

Enjoy!

I am really not good in writing recipes, lol. Let me know if you need any help.
P.S. : This will be a great treat for Valentine's day.
I got the recipe from one off the German magazines, lol.

We were not able to got to Chuck E. Cheeses because Al came home late from work, but still had a good time. I think we will go on the weekend and I make sure I take some pictures.
But like I promised you yesterday here are some pictures of last evening.

Square # 2

Today I could not resist to sew up another square. I actually went  a little out of my comfort zone and added  a little color to it. I feel pretty confident about it.

How do you like the color combination?

First sewing of the year and more

Today I did my first sewing of the year. It felt so good to finally sew something again .Recovery has been long and boring, and I know I'm still supposed to take it easy, but I think it should be OK to sew twice a week for now. I really like what my "sister" is making out of her scrapes, that I had to copy her, lol. It is a great project and the instructions are super easy.

So, here is my first scrap square

Not bad at all
I am so exited about it and can not wait to make more of these.

So besides sewing, I have been teaching the little guy some pre-school stuff at home. He is very exited about it and I hope he will be ready for "real" school soon, but for now I am enjoying him at home. Here are a few pictures of him

It is good to be back
Take care for now

Just because...

Just because it is Friday today, I thought it would be great tohave a second post to share with you, with some things the kids made last night.
Once a week we have pizza night, and you know that we make homemade dough for it. We had some dough left over and the kids had asked if they could use it. I said sure why not. So after they ate and washed their hands they got busy in the kitchen. I sneaked a glimpse to see what thy where doing and saw that they were using some cookie cutters. How creative of them.
So this is what they  made :
Homemade shaped bread. How cool is that? All we need now is some "Hummus" to go with it.

I sure love my kids and their creativity.I can not wait to taste some of their yummy bread, lol.
Happy Friday and have a nice weekend.

You asked for it...

You asked for it.....and I deliver.

Lets backtrack just a little:
A few days ago I have gotten some "Happy Mail" with gorgeous fabric in it. It was a gift from my best friend. She blogged about it, saying/writing that it would be nice to show the things I would make from them. How could I not?!.
Sooo, this is what I made today.

Front

Back
I made a pillow using this tutorial. I guess after seeing all the wonderful pillows you had made recently, it was time for me to make some too. I am in love with the "Atlanta Star" quilt you made for me, and now thanks to you,  I will have some beautiful pillows to go with it. I still need to make one more like this, and then I think I will make some smaller ones and some other things.
You will just have to wait and see, lol.
Take care

Almost wordless Thursday

Sami's new hobby

It was very cute and fascinating to watch him. He was so “absorbed” that he did not even know I was taking pictures of him, lol.
